Leadership

Troop 349 is a Youth-Run Troop with Adults serving as advisors. Consisting of over 40 scouts, our five patrols plan and participate in the active, outdoor scouting program. Youth leaders from each patrol and elected Senior Patrol Leaders serve on the Patrol Leader Council and work with the Scoutmasters to run a successful scouting program.

Troop 349 is lucky to have an exceptionally talented pool of Assistant Scoutmasters, many of which have attained the rank of Eagle Scout as youth, led by Mr. Joseph Way as Scoutmaster. Troop 349G is lead by our adventurous Scoutmaster, Mrs. Tara Wright.

Our Committee is run by an outstanding group of parents and provide the needed support and governance for the scout program. We are always looking for volunteers to serve on Committee. If you are interested, contact the committee chair, Mrs. Vanessa Reisig.

Patrol Leader Council

The PLC is the troop’s elected and duly appointed governing body. Resting on their shoulders is the planning, preparation, and presentation of the troop’s Scouting program.

It’s up to them to see that the promise of Scouting is delivered.

Scoutmasters

The Scoutmasters have three basic roles:

  1. providing the the junior leaders with the tools and skills so they can run the troop

  2. making sure the rules of the BSA and chartered partner are followed

  3. being a good mentor and positive role model

Committee

The troop committee is a cross between a board of directors and a parent support group. It sets troop policies and handles administrative functions, allowing the Scoutmaster and assistant Scoutmasters to focus on working directly with the Scouts.
